What is AppleCore Solutions?
The easiest description of AppleCore Solutions is that it is a one-of-a-kind educational and leadership environment for all concerned about our lives here on the planet. We designed it to be a place where business teams, school officials, and informed families, could come to think, learn, and create a better community. It is a cool, fun, bold, energetic and super comfortable space. We also produce programs to help teams and individuals become more amazing at what they do.
What do you mean by that?
We believe every person, every family, every community, every school, and every business has the potential for total awesomeness…if they choose to pursue it. Our goal with our services, programs, and systems (and everything else we do) is to help support that “idea to realization” concept.
When did AppleCore Solutions start?
Our official birthday was January 24st of 2000. But the idea for AppleCore Solutions came about five years before we actually opened the “doors”. I kept thinking about it until I finally ran out of excuses.
Why did you start AppleCore Solutions?
I’d love to say I was the originator of cool, creative meetings, but the truth is I was inspired by mentors like John Maxwell, Paul Martinelli, Kary Oberbrunner and other fantastic individuals. Before starting AppleCore Solutions, I worked in the corporate world and then with children, youth and families with some pretty spectacular people who I met along the way to here. After hearing dozens of students, families, and businesses say “I wish I could live, play, and work in a place where we can all benefit,” it finally sank in that there might be a need for a creative educational and leadership hub to inspire, entertain, and empower all of us.
Have you always been in your current profession?
Actually, no. We started with a neat little 1,900 square foot space in the Mangonia Park area of Palm Beach County. We dubbed it our “working prototype.” We tweaked and tested out the communication, relationship, customer service, business development, and leadership ideas for years. Before the end of the first 5 years, we knew we needed bigger creative and learning spaces. We discovered an awesome opportunity to collaborate with businesses and banks building an high quality program for our children, youth and family. We’ve expanded several times since we started. We’re currently growing with inspired minds who are ready to get started!
The family you’re in has some history to the community, too, right?
My husband’s family have been in this community for more than 50 years through church, education, and sports. We belong to a church that is one of the oldest churches in the county, if not the state. The family has been members for four generations now. This building is a result of inspired, creative, informed citizens, families, and businesses for over 100 years, so it has a very colorful and profound history. One of our children sings in our church choir and we are very proud to carry the tradition of service. The building has such a neat cathedral-like vibe to it. And the location is perfect. I can’t imagine a better place to get inspiration from for what we do.
Why do you only focus on education, community, and business leadership?
Early on, we strive for educational and business excellence. We had our share of successes and failures to learn and grow from and become who wanted to be for self, family, community, and business. We even looked forward to our community events. We quickly came to the realization that if we wanted to build a better place, it would be hard to do that if we were only focus on our personal agendas.
What’s the most interesting use of the collaboration you’ve seen?
We always look forward to being the premier space for family, community, school, and business hub space to facilitate the transition of inspired and motivated leaders, families, and students achievements and outcomes. That was pretty cool.
What is your favorite use of the AppleCore Solutions?
I love it when any person is hungry to learn and get so immersed in and being creative that they create a new level of success in the process. When I help someone or an organization at the end of the day and it’s going to change lives, I know it was a good day for growth.
What kinds of services, programs, or systems do you NOT like?
During crucial times, we’ve had experiences that no one would be proud about. I hated that. You could just feel the negativity and lack of motivation hanging in the air. Customer service is a big deal to me. Why is that? Look around. When was the last time you got great service from any person, school, or company? Its a hit or miss. We decided from the very beginning that customer service was the key to success in this platform. People crave it, and since it’s rare, they also notice it. That makes it a pretty easy way to stand out from the crowd.
Where does the energy come from that makes AppleCore Solutions ignite potentials so well?
There is something really fun and energizing about serving others and doing something unique and constantly trying to improve what we do every day. We’re also pretty selective in who we hire. Our team members have to be fun, happy people who are great at what they do or they simply don’t fit here. When you have a staff full of energetic, positive people, it generates an amazing amount of energy. We also make sure we don’t work too hard. That may sound counter-culture, but we put a pretty strong emphasis on health & well being. You can’t generate awesome energy if all you do is work. You need enjoy your life, too.
How will you know when you have made an impact on somebody’s life?
My mother served her community as a grandmother, friend, nurse, entrepreneur, and mentor for over 40 years. I am always amazed and proud when I hear a person would recognize the impact she had in their life and tell her what a great person she is and even mention something specific she had said, did or taught, sometimes decades earlier. I think I hold myself to that same standard. While I know we influence people every day at AppleCore Solutions, I will know we made a true impact when the results and outcomes of our services, programs, and systems tell me years from now what a difference we made.
Is that why your goal (and your tagline) is “The Passion of Educational and Leadership Excellence?”
Absolutely. We don’t want AppleCore Solutions to be just a platform for education. We want it to be a game-changer for leadership. We want to positively impact people’s lives and businesses.
Ok, final question: AppleCore Solutions is a great name. How did you come up with it?
It came to me when one of my students gave me an apple for helping her gain clarity in what she was learning. Her smile was infectious and gleaming with confidence. Isn’t that where all the best ideas come from - your students?
